Description
The Membership & Grassroots Coordinator is responsible for supporting the organization's membership growth, retention, advocacy, and political engagement efforts. This position serves as the primary staff liaison to the Membership, Grassroots, and WOPAC committees and works to strengthen member involvement in legislative and grassroots initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate grassroots advocacy programs, legislative engagement activities, and member communications.
- Support and mobilize keyperson networks to build relationships with legislators and advance advocacy priorities.
- Plan and execute the annual Day in Olympia (DIO), including logistics, registrations, legislative appointments, and event communications.
- Manage Washington Optometric Political Action Committee (WOPAC) contribution tracking, reporting, and distribution activities.
- Develop and implement membership recruitment and retention strategies.
- Maintain membership records, dues billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and member classifications in the association database.
- Provide excellent member service by responding to inquiries and resolving membership-related issues.
- Prepare reports, maintain committee communications, and support board meetings, educational events, and special projects.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Experience with membership databases, spreadsheets, and email communication platforms preferred.
- Interest in advocacy, grassroots engagement, and member relations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems.
This position plays a vital role in strengthening member engagement, supporting advocacy efforts, and advancing the organization's strategic goals.
Candidate must live in Washington State.
