JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for a variety of tasks and duties, which may include, but are not limited to the following:
Preparation, submission, and management of regulatory applications, filings, and rate cases filed with the Arizona Corporation Commission ("ACC").
Develop ratemaking models for regulatory proceedings.
Develop and prepare rate surcharge, adjustor, and other similar filings submitted to the ACC.
Identify and implement improvements to ratemaking processes, modeling, and planning activities to support accurate, timely, and strategic filings.
Ensure company compliance with ACC decisions and other directives.
Leading tariff management, revenue and sales reporting, and regulatory compliance tracking.
Prepare, compile, and summarize financial information for use in budgeting and strategic planning.
Conduct economic and cost/benefit analyses for company projects and/or valuation of acquisitions and feasibility and cost of service studies.
Develop water utility and related industry studies.
Perform rate-related research projects and other regulatory and utility operating and management matters.
Develop studies related to customer growth, usage, and industry challenges, as well as statistical comparisons with other utilities.
Provide updates regarding ACC rules, regulations, standards, and practices and the regulatory activities of other public service corporations.
Perform other special assignments and tasks as directed.
Requirements
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Skills, knowledge, and physical requirements include, but are not limited to the following:
Strong background in finance, accounting, economics, and statistics.
Advanced understanding of revenue requirements, cost recovery mechanisms, and ratemaking principles.
Experience working with the ACC is highly preferred.
Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of how regulatory decisions impact utility operations, financial performance, and long-term strategy.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite at an advanced level.
Comfortable contributing both as a leader and an individual contributor in a dyna0m+ic, fast-paced environment.
Ability to perform repetitive physical activities using feet, legs, hands, and arms and be able to, use keyboard, walk, sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb stairs, reach, grasp, lift up to 40 pounds, push, pull, crouch, squat, crawl, and twist.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
The following are required:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.
10+ years of prior experience with a public utility in a rate, regulatory, or accounting related position is required.
Valid Arizona driver's license and acceptable driving record.
