Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is the nation’s leading provider of K-12 science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs. As a nonprofit organization, PLTW’s mission is simple: prepare students for the global economy. Through world-class, activity-, project-, and problem-based curriculum; high-quality teacher professional development; and an engaged network of educators and corporate partners, PLTW helps students develop the skills needed to succeed in our global economy. More than 6,500 schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia offer PLTW programs.
PLTW is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions. The Social Impact Exchange lists PLTW as one of America’s top 100 performing nonprofit organizations, and the CEO-led initiative, Change the Equation, named PLTW one of only four nationally scalable, high-quality STEM programs. In 2014, PLTW received the CLASSY Award for Education Advancement, a top honor given globally in partnership with the United Nations Foundation.
