Company Overview
Integrys Energy Group is a holding company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. We are committed to fulfill our vision of "People Creating a Premier and Growing Energy Company."
Company History
Integrys Energy Group was established on February 21, 2007, with the merging of WPS Resources Corporation and Peoples Energy Corporation.
Each company had its own history of growth. In preceding years, WPS Resources, with flagship utility Wisconsin Public Service and nonregulated energy marketer WPS Energy Services as subsidiaries, had acquired Upper Peninsula Power Company (1998), Wisconsin Fuel & Light (2001), Michigan Gas Utilities (2006) and Minnesota Energy Resources (2006). Peoples Energy had acquired North Shore Gas (1962).
With this merger of WPS Resources and Peoples Energy, Integrys headquarters moved to Chicago, while all utilities kept their identity and headquarters in existing locations. The company's nonregulated energy marketer became Integrys Energy Services.
Merger integration began at the core, building on the basics of Integrys' vision and values. These elements continue to guide the company in pursuing the mission of providing customers with the best value in energy and energy-related services.

While much changed in 2007, important things remained constant: safe, reliable service to all customers, a focus on an environmentally conscious energy future, and giving back to the communities the company serves.
In late 2008, Integrys embarked on a significant change in strategy at our nonregulated subsidiary, Integrys Energy Services. Global economic conditions led the company to scale back Integrys Energy Services and reduce its risk profile. Though a difficult decision, we were able to re-focus efforts in this business segment. Today, Integrys Energy Services is leaner and stronger, with retail natural gas and electric customers in the United States and innovative renewable energy projects in place.
