The National Indian Health Board (NIHB), a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, is the premiere American Indian and Alaska Native health care Tribal organization solely devoted to serving a that serves all 566 Federally Recognised American Indian and Alaska Native Tribal Governments in our shared work to improve the health care delivery system and status of American Indians and Alaska Natives. The heart of NIHB's mission is to advocate for improved health care for American Indian and Alaska Native people across. NIHB's energetic and dedicated team of legislative, policy and advocacy professionals work from the grassroots to the White House to Congress to move that mission forward. Appropriations, budget NIHB also has a vibrant Public Health Programs arm, through which a broad portfolio of community and nationally-based projects are managed, such as Tribal Public Health Accreditation, public health law and policy, behavioral health and research, diabetes and HIV/AIDS outreach and education and much more. NIHB provides national leadership in finding, synthesizing and advancing the national Tribal voice for health care, legislative strategy, policy analysis and development, as well as public health,behavioral health and research project capacity building and project management development.
