Description
The Arcutis Medical Affairs Strategy Lead - External Relations serves as the strategic owner of Arcutis’ medical engagement with key external stakeholders beyond traditional healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders. This individual is responsible for developing and executing a cohesive, long-term medical external-relations strategy that aligns Medical Affairs scientific objectives with the priorities of medical societies, patient advocacy organizations, payers, policymakers, and legislative stakeholders. Reporting to the Executive Director of Medical Affairs Strategy Lead, the Senior Director of Medical Affairs Strategy Lead - External Relations will lead the long-term external engagement vision for medical affairs initiatives, drive flawless cross-functional scientific alignment, and translate the medical and scientific initiatives into actionable outcomes by leveraging the shared goals to partner with these external stakeholders to substantially change the standard of care towards improving outcomes in patients with inflammatory skin diseases.Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and implement an integrated external medical engagement strategy that advances Arcutis’ mission to transform standards of care and improve patient outcomes in immuno-inflammatory skin diseasesCollect input from strategic external partners through advisory boards, strategic steering committees, engagement at conferencesServe as a Medical Affairs point of accountability for relationships with national and regional medical societies, patient advocacy groups, payer medical leadership, health policy organizations, and relevant government entities.Forge and maintain trusted, peer-level partnerships with senior medical and scientific leaders across these external constituencies.Drive cross-functional alignment (Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, HEOR, Market Access, Corporate Affairs, and Commercial) to ensure a unified medical voice in external policy, advocacy, and access initiatives.Translate complex scientific and clinical platforms into compelling, stakeholder-specific narratives that support disease-state education, guideline evolution, evidence generation, and appropriate patient accessEstablish and maintain relationships with Opinion Leaders (OLs) in respective therapeutic area to establish strong scientific presence in the practicing and academic communitiesMonitor and analyze policy trends, payer landscape dynamics, and competitive activity to inform proactive Medical Affairs positioning.Ensure all external activities adhere to the highest standards of scientific integrity and full compliance with industry regulations and Arcutis policies.Coordinate and collaborate on execution of strategic Medical Affairs initiatives in support of department priorities as assigned by managementAdhere to all company policies and procedures as well as all prevailing rules, laws and regulations relevant to the conduct of job duties and responsibilitiesOther duties that may be assigned
Education & Licenses and Experience
Typically requires a bachelors degree in a scientific or business discipline and 10 years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
