Description
Role: Regulatory Policy Adviser, Management Companies & Fund Product RegulationOrganisation: European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA)
Place of work: Brussels
Basis: Full-time, unlimited period
Starting date: Depending on availability, but ideally early 2026
The European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) is based in Brussels and represents the interests of the European investment management industry. Our membership comprises 28 national associations, over 50 corporate members, and 25 associate members.
We are currently seeking a Regulatory Policy Adviser who has relevant experience in the field of asset management, particularly in the regulation of asset management companies and/or products, to strengthen our regulatory team.
We strongly encourage candidates with relevant prior experience in the asset management industry to apply. Preference will be given to profiles with tangible working experience at a national supervisory authority or central bank, in consultancy, in a law firm, or in legal/compliance functions within a financial firm. Prior exposure to government/regulatory affairs is certainly a plus.
More information about EFAMA can be found at www.efama.org.
Key Responsibilities
You will be a member of the Association's Regulatory Policy Team, which is responsible for the following:

- Analysing the possible effects of these developments, facilitating exchanges of views, and developing common positions among our members for advocacy purposes
- Engaging in a constructive dialogue with policymakers and regulators to represent our members' views and promote sensible regulations for the industry while maintaining its global competitiveness
- Evaluating the outcomes of EFAMA's initiatives, reporting the results to our members in a timely manner, and drawing lessons for future actions
- Representing the European asset management industry at conferences, in the financial press, and speaking at events
Your role will involve monitoring EU initiatives within your area of competence, with a particular emphasis on key EU regulations applicable to the asset management product sphere, particularly AIFMD, UCITS, and ELTIF. Familiarity with the EU Benchmark Regulation framework and the Securitisation Regulation is thus a significant advantage for this role.
You will collaborate closely with EFAMA members and industry representatives to identify priorities, develop robust industry positions, and craft compelling narratives to inform and influence regulatory policy debates.
You will build and maintain a network of trusted relationships with EU authorities and other public and private organisations and engage with EU policymakers and regulators at various levels to represent the interests of the European asset management industry and contribute to inform the legislative debate.
Participation in various events to actively promote EFAMA's viewpoints is also a requisite.
Requirements
- University degree in Law, European studies, Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in the asset management field, but ideally a background of 5-10 years of relevant work (see profiles above)

- Ability to quickly absorb and synthesize complex information
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly proactive, self-motivated, result-oriented, creative, and enthusiastic
- Strong team spirit and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong presentation skills
- Native or native-equivalent level English speaker
- An understanding of the EU's policy-making process and/or of the investment management industry is a distinct advantage
- The right to work in the European Union
We offer
- An international working environment with a leading European trade association

- Stimulating work focusing on issues of great economic and social significance
