Position Summary
Dakota Credit Union Association (DakCU) is seeking an entrepreneurial and strategic President/Chief Executive Officer. In partnership with the Board of Directors, this leader will advance the collective interests of credit unions of all sizes across North and South Dakota while ensuring DakCU’s financial strength and long-term sustainability. The CEO will serve as the primary advocate for Dakota credit unions at both the state and federal levels, clearly communicating legislative and regulatory changes and actively engaging with elected officials, regulatory agencies, and national industry partners. This executive will maintain strong relationships with member credit unions, listen to their needs, and ensure DakCU delivers meaningful value through its programs and services. The role includes oversight of third-party service providers to ensure dues-supported partnerships remain transparent, effective, and aligned with member priorities. The CEO will also work with the Board and contracted partners to support the Health Benefit Trust. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and influential relationship-builder with a proven ability to drive organizational growth, manage change, and expand revenue beyond traditional dues and conferences. A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred. Significant advocacy experience and familiarity with cooperative principles are highly desired.
